Local History Talk: The Gilded Age of Silent Movies Filmed in Montecito Mansions

Join Local History expert and author Betsy Green for a presentation based on her latest book exploring the history of the silent film era and the many movies filmed in Montecito estates. Nineteen movie studios traveled from the Hollywood area to film melodramas and adventures beginning in 1911 and ending in 1928.

Betsy J. Green has been writing and speaking about local history for more than 25 years. She is the author of the Way Back When books that celebrate “the history of Santa Barbara - one year at a time.”
