Description

Join us on July 16th as we enjoy the work and unravel the mystique engulfing the much admired and paradoxical poet, Arthur Rimbaud.

Born in 1854, Arthur Rimbaud was a French poet and adventurer who many think of as the founder of modern European poetry. Renowned in the symbolist movement, his work is brilliant and rebellious and was composed in a remarkably narrow, five-year, time frame. After which, the poet stopped writing and renounced poetry in favor of the life of a seafaring merchant adventurer. He would die young, cancer at 37, having lived a brief but sensational life rife with tantalizing contradictions.
