Teen Library Services Orientation!
Santa Barbara Public Library is excited to invite teens in grades 7-12 to its upcoming Library Services Orientation! This fun and informative event will introduce teens to everything the library has to offer, from community service opportunities and special programs to resources that support academic success and future career goals. Participants will also have the chance to make a library card, meet library staff, and discover how the library can help them learn, create, and connect.
High school students interested in participating in the Teen Advisory Board (T.A.B.) for the 2025-2026 academic year must attend to become a T.A.B. member. Prospective T.A.B. members will also need to complete an application.

What is T.A.B.? Teen Advisory Board combines community service and youth development, underlining the value of teen involvement towards the success of Santa Barbara Public Library and the community at large. The program gives high school students positive ways to discover their voice, develop leadership skills, and create lasting change within heir community. Teens will identify community needs, create projects to support those needs, and help shape the library’s teen services, programs, and collections.
T.A.B. meetings will be held twice a month, January through June, once a month in July and August, and resume meeting twice a month September through December. T.A.B. members receive community service hours for attending T.A.B. meetings and events, and additional volunteer opportunities and team building activities will be offered on a weekly basis.
