OG Tutors

Body

SBPL’s OG Readers tutoring program is a free one-on-one tutoring service for 1st - 4th graders who struggle in reading. Students meet weekly with a trained tutor at SBPL location.

The program uses the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach that includes multi-sensory learning, phonics based instruction, and other tools to demystify the process of learning to read. The OG approach, developed for readers with dyslexia, includes great strategies for all struggling readers, including English language learners.

Our trained tutors use sight, hearing, touch and movement to help students connect language with letters and words. Lesson plans are created around your child’s current reading ability and specific needs.
