Faulkner Main Gallery: Santa Barbara Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
A selection of submissions from the The Santa Barbara Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) annual juried Design Awards Program will be on display in February in the Faulkner Main Gallery at Central Library (40 East Anapamu Street) These goal of the Awards is to honor Architectural Work. Entries were submitted in ten categories: Commercial Buildings; Single Family Residential; Mixed Use and Multi-Family Residential; Conservation Projects: Historic Preservation, Restoration, Rehabilitation or Reconstruction; Santa Barbara Style; Small Projects; Commercial Interiors; Residential Interiors; Proposed/Unbuilt Project. A select jury of three distinguished architects from outside Santa Barbara considered 3 levels of recognition for the submitted projects, Honorable Mention, Merit Designation and Honor Award. This year's AIA Santa Barbara Design Awards jury included Jonathan Segal, FAIA; Michael Burch, FAIA; and Greg Wynn, AIA. Alayna Fraser, Past President of the Santa Barbara AIA, said, “The annual Design Awards program celebrates exemplary built projects in our region and is a unique opportunity to engage the public around the topic of excellence in building design.
The following firms were honored for their distinction within their respective categories:

• DesignARC, Santa Barbara Architectural Heritage, Casa Roble
• Anacapa Architecture, Conservation Projects, DRIFT Santa Barbara Merit
• Bildsten Architecture and Planning, Small Projects, Two ADU's on a Multifamily Property Honorable Mention
