Sustainably SBPL Monthly Challenge: Fighting Food Waste
As part of the Sustainably SBPL Series, we’re highlighting local resources and library materials to help patrons learn more about topics in our programming series and implement sustainable changes in their lives! This month we're focusing on food waste, and later this spring we will be hosting classes on food preservation techniques.
Becoming a “food-waste warrior” is one tangible way that we can address the fact that up to 40 percent of the food in the United States goes to waste. Through better planning, education, preparation and food rescue, we can save natural resources, money and contribute to our share of climate and environmental sustainability.
