Libby

Body

Libby is a mobile platform to access eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines. Items that you check out with Overdrive are available on Libby and vice versa. Libby is currently available for Apple, Android, and Kindle Fire devices. You can also access the desktop version on Windows and Macs.

  • Occasionally, Libby may ask you to verify your library. Follow the instructions on how to do so at this link. You may be asked for your PIN, which is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
  • If you are having trouble with this step, try adding a new library card by searching for the Santa Barbara Public Library.

Check out up to 10 titles at a time. Place up to 10 holds.

Replacement Cards

Before checking out or downloading digital materials with your replacement library card:

  • Click on the green "submit a support ticket" button 
  • Enter your information when prompted, including the old and new card numbers when asked for more information about your problem. Make sure to indicate you received a new card and need your account updated.

OverDrive Tech Support will update your account and transfer your holds and checked out items to your new card number.

OverDrive has discontinued their mobile OverDrive app. You still have access to the legacy Overdrive website, but it has limited functionality compared to Libby.
