In my opinion, movies are the greatest art form because they combine so many different art forms: performance, photography, writing, music, costume & clothing design, architecture, and more. Movies are recreations of reality, yes, but they also speak to us in the language of memories using the syntax of dreams. In that fuzzy space, between the lights dimming and “The End,” filmmakers collapse and manipulate time to show you a character’s worst day or their best (sometimes both), endings, and new beginnings.
